Yannick Van Dam Shaolin Training
Yannick abruptly left his home to answer a calling seen in a vivid dream that haunted him since the age of twelve; he had envisioned himself as an ancient Chinese warrior distraught by being refused access to a Shaolin monastery. Yannick listening to his intuition journeyed to China for the first time in 1994 and was immediately accepted to the very monastery he had dreamed of as a child. Notably becoming one of the few foreigner ever allowed to live and train at this monastery. He spent three years as a disciple of the monastery; studying Buddhism and practicing traditional Gong fu under the supervision of his Grand Master Shi Yong Ting and Master Shi Yong Xu.
