Production Notes:
Duel was shot with a JVC GR D70E and a PANASONIC MX500 and a budget of about 200 (two hundred) US dollars. It was filmed on location in BEIJING, CHINA. At the beginning, the idea was to film a martial arts confrontation between Laurent "Lohan" Buson and Fabien Garcia but we quickly decided to develop a simple story around it that would serve the action. One of the originality of this film is that we decided to do it in Japanese, even though we are Caucasian and were filming in China. Beside the 2 main actors (Lohan & Fabien), the permanent crew on Duel was very limited: Fumika was in charge of the Japanese dialogue and was the main camera operator with Yannick Van Dam. A music entitled "Crying Avenger" has been composed especially for this film by Didier Buson.
Nominated at the 2007 Action On Film Festival for:
Best Action Sequence Martial Arts
Breakout Action Star - Laurent "Lohan" Buson
Breakout Action Star - Fabien Garcia
